gum care

We offer the following treatments to help prevent and treat periodontal (gum and bone) disease:

Comprehensive Periodontal Examination - including blood pressure screening, medical history review, past periodontal and family periodontal history, analysis of contributing factors (such as medicines, dry mouth, clenching), home care review, and measurement and analysis of mobility, fremitus, recession, furcations, probing depths, bleeding points, and a radiologic imaging with a full mouth series of digital radiographs (x rays). Dr. Keller will make a diagnosis and present treatment options.

Gum Disease Prevention and Treatment – We offer customized preventive care coaching and treatment techniques for gum disease to prevent the disease from damaging your smile. We do so by treating gum recession, reducing any swelling, and lowering the risk of infection by keeping up on oral hygiene habits.

Non-Surgical Periodontal (Gum) Therapy – We offer scaling and root planing to help with periodontal disease. This process includes scraping away plaque and tartar from below the gum line and smoothing any rough tooth surfaces.

Laser Care with the Biolase iPlus - Laser-assisted pocket reduction and disinfection, removal of excess or overgrown gum tissue, frenectomy and removal of tied tongues or lips in infants, children and adults.

Periodontal Maintenance Cleanings – These cleanings include the similar procedures as regular cleanings, and target the removal of plaque, bacteria, and tartar buildup along the surfaces of the teeth. To ensure healthy gums, we carefully monitor for residual or returning inflammation. Our standard for good periodontal health is 1-3 mm probing depths with healthy, pink gingiva and no bleeding on probing, and we will help you reach and maintain that health.
