More About Dr. Sue
Dr. Sue has lived at Deerfield Academy since 1993, where her husband Sean teaches math and coaches the girl's varsity ice hockey team. She is the proud mom of two young children, her daughter Hunter, and her son, Avery. The Keller Family also includes various pets, including 5 fish, 4 guinea pigs and 4 cats. Dr. Sue is actively involved in personal growth, through many means: refining her jazz skills by playing stand-up bass (after playing symphonic/classical bass since age 9), learning to ride a motorcycle at age 40 and taking horseback riding lessons with daughter. Dr. Sue is an accomplished double bassist and (less accomplished) singer performing with many local groups, including the Pioneer Valley Symphony, the Commonwealth Opera, the Valley Light Opera, and the Franklin Medical Center Clinical Notes. She also enjoys singing in her local church choir. Several times each year, Dr. Sue hosts a jazz jam session, transforming her office into the "Blue Tooth Café," where you can catch some of the Pioneer Valley's jazz musicians sharing pot luck food, drink and music. For more information on how to attend performances at the Blue Tooth Café, join our mailing list. If you're a musician, you're always welcome to sit in! New this year will be Coffeehouse events at the Blue Tooth Café, featuring a wide range of lives performances! |
